Despite the cold, the Christmas period in Turin is one of the most magical moments of the year, when the city is decorated with colours, lights and sounds. In November, December and January, many events and initiatives are held in the main town of Piedmont, but as the Christmas holidays draw closer and closer, the city gets its glad rags on and boy does she become even more stunning than usual.<\/span><\/p>\n

WHAT TO DO IN TURIN DURING THE CHRISTMAS PERIOD<\/b><\/h2>\n

Every year, the main town of Savoy is lit up by art thanks to the \u201cArtistic Lights\u201d installations, by now a traditional event during which contemporary artists bring fascinating, bright artworks to the streets and squares of the city. During this period, the city looks as if it\u2019s really dressed up in lights and on winter nights this effect is truly charming, even in the rain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Places that invite you to recharge your batteries, find shelter and relief from the winter cold, Turin\u2019s historical caf\u00e9s are an obligatory pit stop to make during the Christmas period for tasting the local delicacies, especially those made with chocolate (Turin is considered one of the Italian capital cities of chocolate). Another inevitable stop has to be Goust\u00f2, a restaurant offering the typical cuisine of Piedmont, for those of you who want to discover the ancient flavours and products of the territory. The restaurant is located in a splendid 18th century palace, created by Juvarra, and it faces out over the mesmerizing Galleria Umberto I and the colourful Porta Palazzo market.<\/span><\/p>\n

CHRISTMAS #picnicity AT NH TORINO SANTO STEFANO<\/b><\/h2>\n

2012 was an exceptional vintage and its only limit was the frost in springtime, which seriously reduced its yields and, therefore, its production. And so, the 2012 vintage Champagne Mumm is extremely refined.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It shines in the glass with a golden yellow colour and fascinating greenish highlights. The scent proposes incredible pear and yellow peach aromas, followed by exotic notes of lychee. On the palate it is surprisingly round, with a bright and slightly sapid taste. All characteristics that perfectly represent the #Brilliant character.<\/span><\/p>\n

These bubbles create an ultra-fresh mouthfeel and a pungent acidity, and they come from a sparkling wine-making process carried out using the Classic Method. This means that re-fermentation takes place in the bottle, with a very small amount of oxygen and for several months; the reason why its bubbles are particularly subtle.
